Did you know cotton is extremely flammable? Yea, we knew that too, but I don't know if the group camping by us knew it. They had a fire going in their fire pit and it sparked some cotton, which took off to the left and right of their camp. Yup we had a "forest fire" about 7 sites away from ours. We were on the right of the fire and got ours put out pretty quickly. People weren't so quick on the left side and the fire took to the dry shrubs and trees. The group that started it called 911 and the fire department showed up along with the forest rangers.
The fire went right up to a tent before a family started dragging the tent away and kicking dirt on the fire. Luckily for them they didn't have any damage, but it was really close. The firemen sprayed behind all the tents with water and foam. This will be a year we won't soon forget.
Anyway, the water was great and the company was even better. Here are some of our "fun" pictures.
Ty loves to ride his "shark". He could stay in the water all day. This is the first year the boys didn't get really sunburn.
Zack and his cousin Erin are only 11 days apart in age. They have been the best of friends their whole lives.
My 82 year old grandparents even came up for the day. They had to walk about 100 yards to get to the beach, but they did it! Grandma even went on the boat. What troopers!
My dad hates to let the boat sit idle. He pretty much spends every boating/camping trip taking people out on the boat. Skiing in good water, tubing in rough water. Here Matt's ready to get some good morning water.
My newest niece Morgan. Isn't she beautiful! She is 5 months old.
Morgan's older sister Emma, trying to clean off a day of fun and sun. She just turned two today! Happy Birthday Sweetie!
