Happy Birthday Stephanie!

Tom arrow, March 19th our little Stephanie will be all grown up and legal! That's right she can now vote and be tried as an adult but is still too young to buy dry ice.

As I thought about what memory I should share about Steph I thought about the time she and Jeff joined us on a backpacking trip. Sounds like a normal thing right. Oh did I mention that they hiked the trail in total darkness and arrived at camp around midnight? What adventurers!

Matt will always remember coming off his mission and meeting Stephanie for the first time. She was about 18 months old at the time. He tried to get her to come see him but she was not too interested in him. A few days later the girls slept over at Grandma and Grandpa's house and Stephanie kept waking up which meant she also kept waking Matt up. He finally just picked her up and laid down with her sleeping on his chest. She slept soundly the rest of the night but I think he was not quite as lucky.

Steph is a smart, beautiful, fun, and a great cousin! We love you! Have a great birthday!

Grandma keeps busy

When Grandma Willard Died last December, there was some quilting material that she hadn't used, so Mom took it and has made some things and delivered them to the LDS Humanitarian Center. There are 2 children's quilts, an infant receiving blanket and 3 soft indoor balls. Way to go MOM.

Happy Birthday Katie!

Katie is turning 7 (?) on Thursday the 12th.

When ever we see Katie she is always wearing a smile. She is a great performer and likes to sing and dance. I remember when Katie was a few years younger she loved to pick out her own clothes and would often change them throughout the day. It seemed every time we saw her she was always wearing a dress.

Katie is a bit of an explorer too. When we go camping and backpacking she likes to look at all the flowers, sticks and other "interesting" things on the trail. She never leaves the trail but keeps a sharp eye out. She also is a pretty good hiker and smiles the whole hike, although Bruce usually carries all her stuff. (Maybe if he would carry mine I would smile the whole time too!)

Katie is a fun cousin and a great friend! We hope you have a great birthday! Love you!

Happy Birthday Natalie!

Natalie is having a birthday on Monday, March 9th. Please don't ask me how "old" she will be I can never keep track. I am thinking 20 (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

So Happy 20 (or something) birthday Natalie! Here are a few things I know about Nat. She is very intelligent, a hard and committed worker, caring, kind, fun and beautiful to name a few. Nat is at the age of making many life altering decisions and I am so proud of her for making such good choices!

One of my earliest memories of Natalie was when she was around 7 and had just learned to water ski (again correct me if the age is way off). We were out on the boat and she jumped into the water, put her water skis on, yelled "hit it" and was standing up out of the water before the boat moved 10 feet. She was quite a sight then and has continued to impress me ever since.
